Re: The Festival RPTs

Thank you for the festival. I was impressed with the festival crafts and the contests and prizes. I wish I didnt have to miss a good portion of it, but it was great to attend. Look forward to seeing it again next harvest.

Re: Shadows of Isildur Wishlist

All good. :D Actually got me thinking how reels would fit in-game, but might not be much different then say a large wood spool. We have metalcrafting, so even a metal spool might not be out of the question. links to some ideas in mind http://www.fishingmuseum.org.uk/reels_overview.html at least the ...

Re: Shadows of Isildur Wishlist

It would be different in that the casting techniques are far more difficult in casting a fly lure as opposed to a hook and bait which sinks and a fly that imitates bug behavior on top of the water

Re: Shadows of Isildur Wishlist

*after a bizarre dream of fish(with feet no less) trying to kill me last night*

More fish types, specifically

salmon
pickerel
carp or catfish
stickleback
grayling

muskellunge

Would fly fishing be canon for Middle-earth? If so, that would be a nice addition too.

Systems - Interesting, not sure if I completely agree with tehkory, but something to debate.

Favoritism

Feedback

Would like to hear more opinions on these topics.
ETAA: No, really. I'd full-mouth deep tongue kiss you if you gave me feedback either way.

Re: Stellar RP and RPP

So, just because I am looking at this from the point of view that this is ALPHA (TIA) and while I've been part of SOI previously and another RPI before then that wasn't Arm. I did not however go to ARPI or PRPI. There are some RP tools that are new I'm just learning about and new players might benef...

Re: Stellar RP and RPP

And you do this for every single character? How do you find the time?

Haven't seen an RPP to date so how does one find out what they are doing wrong?

Stellar RP and RPP

From Fulgrim Think doesn't really cause us to give out RPPs. It's your roleplay. However think let's us know that something is happening, and gives us the -opportunity- to snoop or goto the scene itself and WATCH you roleplay, so we can decide if you're deserving of one. We of course still award pe...

Re: Usage of Think

I actually loath using the think command and it really bothers me that staff beg us to use it more (I was suddenly envisioned with -more cowbell- and it seems to really apply here after I re-read this, think about it  ) as to me, at least, it seems to dictate that using 'think' merits RPP or pu...

Awesome, thanks Fulgrim. Would just like to comment on 5) and 7) Let them overrun Utterby  I love you guys too! And I don't like to being a pest which is probably why I don't often voice my opinions. I know you work hard on these game elements, but I do think in some cases it's good to ques...

Re: Nests and Crafts

And now I play catch up. If characters spawn spiders and become overwhelmed, is there a possibility that spiders can get passed them and invade/overrun the town? How do the nests come about? Do staff/players spawn the nests or does the game itself? Is it just one nest that grows or multiple small ne...

Re: Nests and Crafts

Without taking sides, let me say that the code, combat, OOC-meta element of the game is greatly detrimental to the IC atmosphere of those that want to focus more on immersion based roleplay - just as the demands and complaints of that group is making life unhappy for those that want to go out on pa...

Re: Stats vs. RP (split from Nests and Crafts)

Thanks for the links

Going to mull over this a bit, and while there isn't much, Rescue and Retreat got me wondering about how Presence could have some benefits as a primary stat, possibly for mostly non-combatant types that would give reason for them to participate in combat events.

Just curious, but what are your thoughts on the proposed music system? That said, I am really looking forward to the music system. :D Could you direct me to info on the music system? Re: Stats vs. RP (split from Nests and Crafts)

Make a rally skill that only the leader of a group can use. If it succeeds, then the group gets some temporary bonuses to things like willpower and strength. Viola, high presence characters are now natural choices for leadership. Actually, my belief is that this should be a skill only given if the ...

Re: Nests and Crafts

Are these crafts meant to provide this nest burning concept as an everyday occurrence? To me this would seem more of an opportunity for an occasional intermittent RP long term event as oppose to the hack and slash type of daily non-role play route that it appears to take. I'm discouraged with the am...

Aw :( Wasn't aware of the cooking marathons. I just liked it for the fire atmosphere, especially during the cold months. If one could be put in for just heating/light purposes that would be great.

Re: Common Religion in Utterby

Thank you for all the perspectives and the info on the Sun, Moon and Seas is appreciated. Even gave me a new outlook on Orcs too. I rather like the fact that religion is not a major element in Middle-Earth, and I admit, I'd be a little remiss if suddenly priests and churches sprouted up, but after m...

Common Religion in Utterby

From my understanding, religion was not described in-depth by Tolkien and I have a small understanding of Eru and the influence of this deity on the inhabitants of Middle-earth and in turn the citizens of Utterby. What I was wondering is, what sort of influence does religion play in the everyday liv...
