The World Ahead

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We'll wander back to home and bed.

Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!


I have enjoyed my journey with Shadows of Isildur for a long number of years, through the many twists and turns that our story line and our community have taken. It has been my privilege and my joy during that time to roleplay and story-tell in this world we have created together to enjoy and expand upon the world first imagined by the Professor.

But as the First Age had to become the Second, all things have their time. As such, I will be leaving the realms of the Valar, and stepping away as Elder and Staff and passing on the reins. It is time for our Great Song to gather a new refrain.

I thank everyone for the scenes of joy and sorrow, triumph and defeat, the quiet moments and the grand ones that you have humbled me by enjoying with you over the many years. As a recent visit from a friend from our community showed, some of those memories are still as sharp as glass and will always have the most fond of spots in my heart.

I hope to see you all from the mortal shore (for a time with a face you might recognize) and will look forward to experiencing with you what the next Age brings to our vision of Middle Earth.
